Sponsorship options include spouses or common-law partners, dependent children, parents, and grandparents. Other relatives may be eligible in rare cases. 

Sponsors must meet income requirements to support the sponsored person. The sponsorship process involves submitting two applications: the sponsor’s sponsorship application and the relative’s permanent residence application. The sponsor must also sign an agreement to financially support the sponsored family member for a period of time.
