Are you in Canada and looking for permanent residency (PR) in 2025? The Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot Program offers a streamlined pathway for eligible applicants. This updated program is more flexible and features two streams based on your location:
- For Applicants Already in Canada – Open to those on valid status (e.g., international students, spousal open work permit holders).
- For Applicants Outside Canada – Will open later in 2025 for those without Canadian work or study experience.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify under the first stream (opening March 31, 2025), you must:
- Have at least a high school diploma plus six months of relevant education (childcare, elderly care, healthcare).
- Achieve CLB4 in an approved English/French test (IELTS, CELPIP, PTE).
- Secure a full-time, permanent job offer from an eligible employer (private family, group home, retirement home, hospital, or direct-care agency).
- No LMIA or prior experience is required.
- Employer must be outside Quebec.
- Out-of-status applicants in Canada may still be eligible.
Finding an Eligible Employer
- Private families earning over $80K–$100K who need childcare or eldercare.
- Retirement homes, hospitals, long-term care centers, or direct-care agencies.
- Recruitment agencies and placement firms do NOT qualify.
Key Considerations
- Prepare early – Secure a job offer, complete your language test, and gather documents.
- Beware of fraud – Do not pay for job offers or fake immigration services.
- Job must be full-time – Part-time or temporary roles won’t qualify.
- More details to come – Wage requirements and additional application steps will be clarified closer to launch.
What’s Next?
- Secure a job offer now.
- Take your language test (CLB4 required).
- Get your education documents ready.
- Stay updated for more details before March 31, 2025.
This program offers a straightforward PR pathway with no LMIA or work experience required, making it one of the easiest routes to Canadian PR for home care workers. Act now to secure your spot!
